Scientific Sessions

Ethics in Neonatal and Perinatal Care

The issues of viability, palliative care, and parental counseling are discussed here. The threshold of periviable births and resuscitation decisions that are highly ethical is a couple of points to be included in the session. Those with expertise in their fields will offer several approaches to making decisions related to ambiguous prognoses. They will employ this approach in withdrawing life support and assisting with the psychological situation of the families in discussing bereavement. The course focuses on developing the communication skills necessary for conducting complex and ethically sensitive discussions. Very important for neonatologists, ethics committees, and perinatal counselors.
